1. "Fast rolling balls" indoor activity for kids
Hands down this is by far our favorite indoor activity for kids. It’s so much fun and can be easily adapted to different ages.
Put a few books under one side of a table to create a slight slope. Then roll some balls down the table and let your kids try to catch them with a basket or some sort of container.
Depending on your child’s level you can roll the balls slower or faster and roll just one ball at a time of even several.
I just love this indoor inactivity because all my kids are so engaged with it. Even my 1 year old is happily watching a ball rolling slowly into his basket. While my 5 and 6 year old kids are re
2. "Balls taped on wall" indoor activity for kids
Tape some balls to a wall using painter’s tape (leaves no residue behind as opposed masking tape or other tape).
Then let your kids grab one ball at a time and run to a box somewhere else in your house and put it in there.
Variations:
- Put several containers and label with different colors. Now your kids have to color sort at the same times.
- Put a few containers somewhere and attach a note with a specific number or math problem on each. Your kids have to put the correct number of balls into each container.
- Make it a competition! Who can put the most balls into his container?
3. "Ball transfer" indoor activity for kids
Put two containers in front of your child. One is filled with balls while the other one is empty.
Your child should sit on a chair. Now your child can try to transfer the balls from one container to the other by just using his feet.
Giggles guaranteed!!!
4. "Ball throw" indoor activity for kids
Give your child a box full of ball pit balls and put a second box or bin to throw the balls into.
Variation:
1. Set up multiple bins to throw the balls into. Label each bin with a color and let your child color sort the balls!
2. Label multiple bins with a specific point values and place them apart from each other. The bin furthest away gives the highest point value. The bin closest the lowest points. Who can get the highest points?
I hope you enjoyed this post and found some inspiration for your next rainy day at home with your kids!
